The Miraculous Draught of Fishes

Rubens depicts the miracle told in Saint Luke's gospel. Christ tells the fishermen to cast their nets. They struggle to haul in nets bursting with fish, even though they had caught nothing the previous night. Simon Peter kneels before Jesus, ashamed at having doubted him. From that moment on he becomes Christ's disciple.
