Angelica saved by Ruggiero

The hero, Ruggiero, mounted on a hippogriff (a mythological animal which was half horse and half griffin), saves the captive Angelica from a sea monster. The subject comes from the 16th-century epic poem Orlando Furioso by Ariosto.
