Der niederländische Maler Johan Barthold Jongkind ist mit fünf Gemälden aus seiner gesamten Karriere der am stärksten vertretene Künstler in der Sammlung Hélène und Victor Lyon. In den 1860er Jahren hielt er sich häufig in Honfleur und anderen Orten an der Küste der Normandie auf, wo er die französischen Maler Eugène Boudin (1824–1898) und Édouard Manet (1832–1883) traf.

The Dutch painter Johan Barthold Jongkind is the artist best represented in the Hélène and Victor Lyon collection, with five paintings from throughout his career. In the 1860s, he often stayed in Honfleur and other places on the Normandy coast, where he met the French painters Eugène Boudin (1824-1898) and Édouard Manet (1832-1883).

Avec cing toiles qui s'échelonnent sur toute sa carrière, Jongkind est l'artiste le mieux représenté dans la collection Lyon. Dans les années 1860, il séjourne souvent à Honfleur et sur la côte normande, où il fait la connaissance des peintres français Eugène Boudin (1824-1898) et Edouard Manet (1832-1883).
